MyTrain single and return
If you're out and about for the day, a MyTrain ticket is a simple and convenient option for single and return point-to-point travel on Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services.
Tickets commence on the date of purchase and are valid until 4.00am the next day.
To find out your fare, select your origin and destination on the fare calculator.
Child and concession fares
Concession single and return tickets are available to children aged 4 to 15 years (inclusive), students, pensioners and others with a half-fare entitlement. Concession off-peak return tickets are available to children aged 4 to 15 years only. Children aged 3 and under travel free. Find out more about concession fares.
Child off-peak return
Children can save up to 30% on their return fare when travelling after 9.00am Monday to Friday or at any time on weekends and public holidays. Peak fares commence from 12.01am each weekday.
If you are travelling from outer suburban areas (such as Katoomba or Newcastle), child off-peak fares are available for some trains departing prior to 9.00am. For a list of these services, please refer to Approved off-peak trains.
When at least one fare-paying adult travels with children or grandchildren from the same family, one child travels for half fare and the other children travel free.
The Family Fare deal does not apply for travel on NSW TrainLink Regional services, Sydney Buses special event services (except Moore Park and Randwick Racecourse services), private ferries or Metro Light Rail services. Children must be under 16 years of age or hold a Senior Secondary Student NSW Transport Concession Card.
If you are travelling on a Sunday, you may wish to consider Family Funday Sunday tickets.
Where to buy
MyTrain single and return tickets are available from ticket vending machines and station ticket offices.
Break of journey is not permitted. MyTrain single tickets are not available for use on NightRide bus services.
