Blacktown Station, Boys Avenue lift replacement

Posted: Tuesday 15 January 2013

Blacktown Station lift availability January to April 2013

We're replacing the lift which operates between Boys Avenue entrance and the footbridge at Blacktown Station, to reduce failures and improve reliability.

Work will take place between 29 January and the end of April. During this time, there is no lift access between Boys Avenue and the station footbridge. Alternative lift access to and from the station footbridge is via Main Street and the Blacktown Station bus interchange.

Please note the information below if you need lift access to and from Boys Avenue entrance to Blacktown Station and allow extra time for your journey.

Entering and leaving Blacktown Station via Boys Avenue

If you need lift access to the station via Boys Avenue, please catch one of the Busways or Hillsbus accessible services operating from Devitt Street T-way Station (near the corner of Sunnyholt Road and Devitt Street) and travel to the bus interchange, which has lift access to the station footbridge.

If you are travelling from the station to locations on or near Boys Avenue and need lift access, catch one of the buses departing from stands 15/16 at the interchange and travel to Devitt Street T-way Station. Then cross over Sunnyholt Road at the traffic lights and continue down George Street into Boys Avenue.

Tickets will not be required for people travelling between Devitt Street T-way Station and the bus interchange and who need lift access.

In addition the 720 shuttle bus operates a loop service to and from the bus interchange via First Avenue; between 9.00am and 2.15pm weekdays and between 9.00am and 5.30pm on weekends.

Please plan your trip to allow extra journey time.

Driving by car and parking at Blacktown Station

If you drive and normally park at Boys Avenue car park to access the station, please drive to Seven Hills Station car park.

There is lift access at Seven Hills, Parramatta, Mt Druitt, St Marys and Marayong stations. Tickets will be recognised if you are changing trains at these stations to continue your journey.

Please plan your trip to allow extra journey time.
