Central Station lift availability

Central Station lift availabilityBetween 7 January and 29 June 2013, we're installing new, more reliable lifts at Central Station. The lifts will be replaced in stages to minimise inconvenience to customers.

If you need lift access to Central Station during this time, you may need to change at Town Hall, Wynyard, Circular Quay or St James stations for services arriving on different platforms at Central.

Tuesday 2 April until Friday 28 June - platforms 22 and 23

During this time, the lift to platforms 22, 23 and Eddy Avenue concourse at the northern end of the station will be unavailable.

Your ticket to or from Central Station is valid for travel via Town Hall, Wynyard, Circular Quay or St James stations if you need lift access. Please allow additional journey time.

Travelling to Central Station

If you're travelling from Circular Quay or St James, please board services from platform 1 at these stations. Customers travelling from Wynyard Station should board services departing from platform 5 to Central.

These services arrive at platform 19 which has lift access.

Customers travelling from Town Hall Station should board services from platforms 1, 2 or 4; arriving at platforms 18, 19 or 25 which have lift access.

Travelling from Central Station

Customers travelling to stations on the Bankstown or Airport & East Hills lines should travel to their destination via City Circle services departing from platform 17. For information on services see station staff. Please allow approximately 20 minutes extra journey time.

If your journey involves changing trains at Central for services to stations on the Airport & East Hills and Bankstown lines; travel to Wynyard or Town Hall stations to catch a service to your destination.

Please plan your trip to allow extra journey time.
