Longer-term tickets now even better value

Longer-term MyTrain and MyMulti tickets will offer even better value from 1 July 2011.

Monthly, quarterly and yearly MyTrain tickets will be reduced by nine per cent, offering savings of up to $224 a year from stations like Kiama, Gosford and Springwood to the City.

The savings reward regular CityRail customers who leave their cars at home and encourage others to adopt train travel. It will also assist reduce Monday morning ticket queues as customers who normally purchase weekly and fortnightly tickets take advantage of longer-term tickets.

Under the new fares, a customer travelling from Gosford to Wynyard will save $20 when they buy a MyTrain monthly, $56 on a quarterly and $224 on a yearly ticket.

Customers who purchase MyMulti tickets or Newcastle Green TravelPasses will also notice a saving of up to $100 a year.

The discount also applies to MyTrain concession tickets (50 per cent of the new adult fare). MyMulti concession tickets are not available.

Buy online

Tickets purchased at CityRail stations commence on the date of purchase, however you may pre-purchase and specify a future commencement date by buying your tickets online.

Tickets at the new discounted fares may be purchased online from 14 June 2011 (for travel on 1 July 2011 or later).


Customers who have already purchased a monthly, quarterly or yearly MyTrain or MyMulti ticket may wish to apply for a refund online and then buy a ticket at the new discounted fares. Please note that normal refund conditions and fees apply.
